About
Dr. Xuguo Zhang holds a BSc and an MS degree in Applied Mathematics from Xi’an Jiaotong University and University College London, respectively. In August 2020, he earned his PhD in Air Quality Modeling and Data Assimilation from Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), under the supervision of Chair Prof. Jimmy Fung. Following his PhD, he became a Hong Kong Research Talent Hub (RTH) Postdoc Fellow and later a Research Associate, continuing his work with Prof. Fung's air quality modeling group in the Department of Mathematics at HKUST. He hold a Postdoctoral Laboratory Associate at Yale University in 2023, focusing on air pollution and health co-benefits while working with Prof. Kai Chen as part of the CHEN (Climate, Health, and Environment Nexus) lab.
Dr. Zhang has served as a Co-I on a Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) project awarded by the Resarch Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong, as a Co-I on a National Natural Science Foundation of China - RGC (NSFC-RGC) Joint Research Project, and as a Co-I on a University-level internal fund at HKUST. His research has been supported by prestigious funding sources, including the RGC of Hong Kong, the Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the NSFC-RGC Joint Scheme, and various levels of government, including the Hong Kong Government and the Greater Bay Area authorities.
